Happy Wednesday

Hello you lovelies! Hope you're all well :) Sorry I've been away for so long I've been busy with A level work (nice welcome back after the holidays isn't it?) and the spare time I have had has either been spent at work ('all work and no play make...'- WAIT!) or partying with friends (hehe) so I’ve got a few OOTN's coming up soon.
So today, is my first whole day off. My alarm was turned off. My work is done. My house is empty. I got up after my lovely lie in, hoping to have a coffee in front of something an E4 classic (preferably 90210). Only to find, in the 'switch over' I have lost ALL my digital channels, bar BBC1 and BBC2! (Not exactly my first choice) After spending a good half an hour re-tuning the digital recorder, I still only have those 2 channels and it's safe to say, I’m more than a little irritated. Take me back to the days of 5 channels that's what I say! - Then you can't miss what you never had!
In the prospect of me not having a lot to do other than watch daytime television, I've texted round a few friends, only to find, they're all at college/ 6th from/ work etc.! (I guess it's to be expected, right?)
Needless to say it's not been the best start to this 'Happy Wednesday' and blogging is where I have ended up! Still, this is where the silver lining lies... I recently hit over 50 followers! Although it might seem insignificant to some, I’m chuffed to bits! :) Over 50 of you have taken the time to click that little follow button and each one literally makes my day. You've been very welcoming to my amateur ways and I just wanted to say thank you! xx

...a lovely cup of coffee later and I have recovered from this vent :)

I've never gone with the wind, just let it flow

My goodness it's a little blustery today! I had to pop out so I wanted to be nice and warm :) It’s a little bit H&M crazy.

Products I regret buying

Ooh, sorry chicks it's been a whole week since my last post! I've just returned from a very long shift but I've been meaning to do this for a while and there's no time like the present!
An infamous title among YouTube beauty gurus; basically products I feel I've wasted money on, and hopefully, this might stop you doing the same! (Though please remember all opinions are based on my personal experiences etc etc.)

Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser (£6-10)
It didn't break my skin out, it cleared away remaining traces of makeup (as far as I'm aware) and the battery life was very reasonable. I bought it on a whim, working on similar ideas to the Clarisonic, but cheaper (much, much cheaper!) I didn't use it regularly as it only gave me average results; nothing which couldn't of been achieved with a cleanser and a muslin cloth or scrublet and if used daily, wouldn't work out too cheaply anyway, as the replacement pads are difficult to find. I find it a bit too much of a hassle and so it sits in my bathroom looking cute (oh yeah, I like the design)

Fade Out White Original Moisturising Cream (around £8)
I suffered with mild acne for about 6 months last year, once my skin had cleared up (with a little help from prescription treatment) I was left with some bad pigmentation scarring on my cheeks, long story short I decided to try this out as it seemed to have good reviews. Unfortunately it just doesn't work for me. I find the smell repulsive and the packaging very awkward (It's a very heavy glass jar, not very handy at all) As for the actual product, it left my skins very greasy/ oily looking and broke my skin out in lots of little whiteheads (sorry for graphic description) Consequently, I have not being able to judge/ see any visible results as I simply could not continue to use it.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation (around £5)
Firstly, the colour range is dreadful. Yet another brand falling at the first hurdle with the orange undertone which to my knowledge, no human actually possesses naturally. I bought the lightest shade (100 Ivory) and even when blended still had clear orange marks on my jawline. I found the coverage to be very poor and it actually stung my face if I did not wear a primer underneath. As for the 'mattifying' properties, I found these to be pretty much nonexistent. It lasted all of about 1 hour before my t-zone became shiny (and my skin is not particularly oily) I tried to persevere with it but it just didn't do what it claims to.

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer (£16.50)
Possibly the biggest disappointment, and the most expensive. It claims to be an 'Industrial strength concealer' surely this would mean decent coverage right? Wrong. It comes out quite sheer and greasy and didn't have much staying power. The jar feels quite cheap and it had only been about a week before the name began sliding off. I was really disappointed as I know quite a lot of people swear by this but everything about it just feels cheap, which really isn't what you want when you're paying this price.

ME ME ME Flawless Concealer (around £5)
Once again, it had good reviews but just didn't live up to my expectations. The packaging is quite cheap, I hadn't had it very long until the lid split causing mass leakage in my makeup bag! The colour range was a lot more realistic but it had very little coverage which blended away to nothing. Clearly, this was before I discovered the miracle product that is Collection 2000's lasting perfection – my faith has now been restored in the concealer world :)

Maybelline Dream Creamy Foundation (around £8)
(Known as 'Dream Smooth Mousse' in the US) Hands up, this probably was more a fault of my own than the product - I clearly bought the wrong shade. Even so, I find that it doesn't great coverage without quite a lot of product and then I feel it can look quite cakey. It's aimed at people with normal to dry skin as it's quite moisturising. Unfortunately, I found it clung to dry areas on may face making it look patchy.

Nivea Tinted Moisturising Day Cream (£4)
One main problem. Orange colour range again! There is only one shade available, 'Natural'. For my skintone, there is nothing natural about it. Sorry Nivea!

Phew, I feel better after a bit of a rant. Any products you regret? Let me know :) xx

My Sunday in a nutshell

Eyup m'lovelies, hope you're all well :) I'm currently awaiting my Sunday roast so I thought I’d quickly let you know what I’m up to! I went to a moving house party last night and had a super lovely time old high school friends I haven't seen in ages! I woke up feeling a little worse for wear but I managed to cram in some hideously unhealthy food (I don't care what anyone says, it cures my hangovers) and get myself out the door and to a gala with my best friend. Needless to say, it chucked it down for most of the day and just as we left, it turned sunny. (Typical English weather for you right?) Still, I had a good day I’m just not looking forward to returning to 6th form on Tuesday (booo!) When do you all return to the daily routine? Or have you already?

My plans for the rest of the evening; a bath, a dvd, comfort food and my bed. Perfection.

Happy September

Hello chicks! We've had gorgeous weather today so I popped into town with one of my girlies. We did some shopping, had a latte outside Starbs and I got my lobes pierced for the second time. Although it's not too interesting, I thought what I picked up :)

I've been looking for some plain black city shorts for a while, they're great for nights out as the go with everything! I found these in Republic and they were only about £25. I'm not too sure about the whole double belt thing though... I'll probably replace it.

I popped into Boots to repurchase this, I don't think it really prolongs the wear of my foundation but it minimises larger pores and makes my foundation go on a lot smoother. Plus it's only about £5 and seems to last foreverrrr.

I've been meaning to get them done for ages I just want them to heal quickly so I can change them to something more interesting :) Oh and if you're interested, I get all my piercings done at Blue Banana and I've never had any problems with their service. I hope you all had a lovely day! xx
